Anomalies and genetic deformations in the cats

--INTRODUCTION --

In the cats, as in any other animal, there is a great number of gene deformations. Many of them probably won't live a normal life. Widely diffused ones are:  tails with knots or similar, but they allow the cat to lead a normal life.  Some anomalies are hereditary, some others can appear for external motivations.

In England and in America cats with anomalies are defined FREAK CATS.

Polydactyly:

This genetic illness, quite rare, consists in having more than four fingers (plus one lateral). In the picture a cat with seven fingers.  The cat may lead a normal life. This anomaly is hereditary.

Double canine:

As humans cats may have a double canine too! ^^

 Anopthalmia:

Cats having this rare anomaly doesn't have orbs. Obviously these cats are blind.

Micropthalmia:

Cats with this anomaly have one eye bigger than the other.

Ears anomalies:

This genetic deformation has originated a new breed:  the Scottish Fold.

Kangaroo cats -HYPOPLASIA

These cats are named cabbit (Cat-Rabbit), in fact, they have the prior legs more short.

Green cats

This anomaly is probably a hoax, I'm not sure. For more information:  http://messybeast.com/green-cat/green-genes.htm

Hypodactily:

In this case the cats have less fingers (two, three....)

Branchydactily:

It is a genetic deformation about  the length of the fingers.

Tail deformations:

The tail may be deformed  too. The short tail is a main characteristic of the Japanase bobtail

Cats with wings

The exact name is CUTANEOUS ASTHENIA, which make the skin very elastic and flexible.

Fur:

Other anomalies have originated some breeds, like, the SPHYNX (in the right picture), and the DEVON REX (in the left picture) , with a curly fur.
