Today the clonation is
a reality. In fact, many think to clone animals that are going to become extinct like the panda. In United States it is
already possibile to clone your own cat.
Yes. It
is true.....An American company offers this service for "only"
50.000 $. Or rather, that was the cost at the beginning, now it is 32.000 $.

The 22th December 2001 the first
cat was cloned. Its name is CopyCat or CC . With this
experiment, the University of Texas, that realized it, opened the way
to the cat clonation.
However
Copycat is not identical to the mother: its fur has a different colour and
its personality is different too. This is the proof that the clonation
doesn't produce exactly the same men/animals. According to many scientists it is known that
the appearance are not only the DNA, but also external factors, that
influence the embryo development.

But, its
right to clone a cat?
It is a problem today open.

An
other private institute, the Genetics Savings and Clone, has
created two cloned kittens, Baba and Tabouli.
The
first cat sold by this company has been Little Nick, the clone of
Nicky, a Maine Coon cat.

But
the cloned cats are healthy?
Copycat
is recently mother and its kittens are healthy.
